- Open the AI cover letter generator (also under Cover Letters in your account menu, and on every job in My Jobs).
- Choose your resume — any resume in My Resumes, or upload one.
- Add the job: pick it from My Jobs, paste the job link, or paste the description. Add the company and the hiring manager's name if you know them — the greeting becomes "Dear Ms. Shah" instead of "Dear Hiring Manager".
- Pick a tone (Professional, Enthusiastic, Confident or Warm & friendly) and a length (Short, Standard or Detailed).
- Optionally tell the AI what to mention: a referral, a move, a career change, why you love the company.
- Click Write my cover letter (1 credit).

Common questions
Is the cover letter based on my real experience?
Yes. The AI uses only facts from your resume (and your note). It won't invent employers, numbers or skills.
How long should a cover letter be?
Usually three or four short paragraphs — about 250–330 words. Choose Short if the application asks for something brief.
