Tailoring your resume to a job

  1. Open My Jobs and click Tailor & Apply on a job — or add one with + Add a job by pasting its link and/or description.
  2. Step 1: choose which of your saved resumes to start from (Word works best).
  3. Step 2: see the job's keywords. Green ✓ means your resume already has it; tap the missing ones you honestly have experience with. For the most accurate keywords, paste the full job description or click Read it from the job link.
  4. Click Tailor Resume (1 credit). The AI works your chosen keywords into as few lines as possible.
  5. Step 3: review every change — untick any you don't want, or edit the wording.
  6. Step 4: generate, preview and download your tailored resume. It's saved to My Resumes.
  7. Apply on the employer's site, then mark the job as Applied to keep track.

Why tailor?

Applicant tracking systems and recruiters look for the exact skills named in the posting. A resume that uses the same terms — truthfully — ranks higher and is quicker to scan. Read more in tailoring your resume to a job description.

Common questions

Will tailoring change my formatting?

No. With a Word resume, only the edited lines change and every word keeps its original style.

What if a keyword doesn't fit anywhere?

The AI only adds a keyword where it honestly fits what a line already describes. Anything it can't add is listed so you know.
